Huxtable Consulting is pleased to announce the release of version 1.0.0 of Escalate. This release completes a year-long development and testing cycle to reduce the maintenance of commodity modeling in SurfnOnline.
Escalate creates a NUFMAP escalation input file based on user-defined rules. Escalate will query the online resources of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) to update and maintain historic and future economic indexes for fuel price forecasting.
Requests to the BLS require the unique series ID, and BEA requests require both the table ID and series ID to locate the specific index. Escalate also includes an option to define fixed rate escalation.
The resulting NUFMAP escalation file is used as input to the GEM-ESM fuel supply model.
Version 1.0.0 is available to all SurfnOnline users and can be accessed using the following case command:
APP1 = escalate
